Trump Says Israel Accepts Key Terms for 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire Proposal.

US President Donald Trump announced that Israel has agreed to the “necessary conditions” to finalize a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, raising hopes for a potential halt in fighting that has lasted nearly nine months.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump praised the roles of Qatar and Egypt in mediating the deal and urged Hamas to accept the proposal. “It will not get better IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” Trump warned. He said that during the truce, the US would “work with all parties to end the War.”
So far, Israel has not publicly confirmed it has accepted the ceasefire terms, and Hamas has not commented.
The announcement comes ahead of Trump’s meeting next week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where he has promised to be “very firm.” Trump said he believes Netanyahu wants to end the war and added, “I think we’ll have a deal next week.”
Israeli officials have echoed openness to a truce. UN Ambassador Danny Danon told the BBC Israel is “absolutely” ready for a ceasefire but accuses Hamas of “playing hardball.” He said, “The war will end when the hostages are back home.” Around 50 Israeli hostages are still believed to be held in Gaza, with at least 20 thought to be alive.
Meanwhile, violence continues to escalate. At least 20 Palestinians were killed Monday in an Israeli airstrike on a Gaza City seafront café, according to medics. Israel also issued new evacuation orders in northern Gaza ahead of what it described as intensified military action.
The war began after Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attack, which killed 1,200 people in Israel. Since then, over 56,000 people have died in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
A previous ceasefire effort in March collapsed when Israel resumed airstrikes, citing Hamas's military buildup.
