Thailand's Youngest PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra Suspended Amid Ethics Probe

Thailand has temporarily suspended Prime Minister Petongtan Shinawatra following a leaked phone conversation with a former political leader of cambodia. The two countries have had a lot of tension between them for years. 

Shinawatra, 38, was suspended from her post as prime minister, which she has been in power for 10 months. After a phone conversation with former Cambodian politician Han Sen was leaked in June. In this interaction, he addressed Han Sen as "Uncle."

Diplomatic tensions between the two countries have been sparked since a long-standing border dispute escalated in May. In the leaked phone conversation, Shinawatra told Hun Sen that she was under internal pressure and that the country's military commanders were in opposition.

Thailand's 36 senators have filed a petition with the Constitutional Court accusing Shinawatra of "violation of ethical rules" The court decided to suspend her temporarily until the case is heard.
