SparkHub Takes Maldivian Startup Stories to Malaysia with Huddle Event
SparkHub has successfully concluded Huddle Malaysia, its first international community-led event, marking a milestone in efforts to highlight Maldivian entrepreneurship beyond national borders.
The event brought together Maldivian founders and professionals based in Malaysia, aiming to strengthen connections within the global Maldivian startup community. Huddle is SparkHub’s flagship networking and storytelling platform, known for facilitating open discussions where founders share real-world experiences and lessons from building businesses.
Huddle Malaysia focused on Maldivian entrepreneurs who have established or are operating their ventures from Malaysia, showcasing how local founders are building globally relevant businesses. The session featured four founders: Mohamed Fauzaan, Founder of Pluk; Maail, Founder of Tiny App Studio Sdn Bhd and Senior Engineering Manager at Mindvalley; Shafiu, Co-Founder and Chef at Oviato; and Afrah, Co-Founder of Family Room Coffee. Each shared insights into their entrepreneurial journeys, spanning technology, product development, and consumer businesses.
Speaking at the event, Hussain Jinan, Co-Founder and CEO of SparkHub, said Huddle Malaysia represented a significant step in SparkHub’s evolution. He noted that taking Huddle abroad reflects a shift towards building a globally connected Maldivian startup ecosystem to support founders wherever they choose to operate.
Family Room Coffee supported the event as its coffee partner, while more than 50 participants attended. The gathering was open exclusively to the Maldivian community, creating a trusted space for networking, learning, and collaboration among Maldivian professionals abroad.
