Israeli airstrikes across Gaza on Sunday killed at least 72 Palestinians, including children and aid-seekers, as the humanitarian situation in the besieged enclave continues to deteriorate.

Strikes targeted Gaza City, Khan Younis, and areas near aid distribution centres. According to Gaza’s health officials, many victims were seeking food when attacked. Since late May, over 580 people have been killed near humanitarian sites, raising concerns of deliberate targeting.

Hospitals, already overwhelmed and under-equipped, are struggling to treat the wounded. Health workers warn of rising malnutrition, especially among children, and a lack of basic medical supplies.

The Israeli military also dropped evacuation leaflets in parts of eastern Gaza, prompting panic among residents. Meanwhile, efforts toward a ceasefire continue. Talks are reportedly underway between Israel, the U.S., and regional mediators, though no breakthrough has been announced.

Aid agencies warn that the enclave is on the brink of famine, with over half the population displaced and essential services near total collapse.
