Chinese Partnership Launches Canned Maldivian Tuna Factory
A Chinese company has started producing fish cans using local Maldivian Tuna
This is the first time the company has produced fish bottles using Dhivehi Tuna.
The first samples of the Tuna Cans, manufactured by Weihai QZ Bluesy Foods Company Limited, have been presented to Maldivian Ambassador to China Fazeel Najib. The work was done in collaboration with China's Jingwei Dao brand team.
The Minister of Fisheries is committed to developing the fishing industry, exploring new markets and promoting sustainable and valuable fish products globally. The minister said this in a post on social media.
Under the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Maldives and China, all fisheries products will be exported to China at zero rates. The agreement opens up many opportunities for the development of the fishing industry.
