Chef Ulfa Brings Resort-Standard Pastry Training to Communities Through Avani+ Fares Maldives' 'The Art of 20'
Renowned Maldivian pastry chef Ulfa is launching "The Art of 20," a special culinary initiative aimed at bringing resort-standard pastry training and professional skills closer to communities across the Maldives.
Designed for home-based women, aspiring pastry entrepreneurs, and culinary enthusiasts, the program will teach 20 specially selected pastry items based on techniques and standards used in professional resort and hotel kitchens.
The initiative is sponsored by The Kek Shop, in association with the B. Dhonfanu Council, and in collaboration with Avani+ Fares Maldives. The programme is managed by LetsParty.mv.
The official launch of "The Art of 20" will take place on 22 July 2026 in F. Feeali, marking the start of a series of culinary and entrepreneurship-focused activities across the Maldives.
Sharing Resort Expertise with Local Communities
Through this program, Chef Ulfa aims to empower participants with practical pastry skills that can support home-based businesses, improve existing ventures, and create new opportunities within the culinary and hospitality industry.
Each training session will accommodate around 10 to 15 participants, allowing for focused, hands-on learning. Island councils, Women's Development Committees (WDCs), NGOs, and community organizations are invited to collaborate and bring the program to their communities.
From Resort Kitchens to Local Islands
As part of the initiative, Chef Ulfa will conduct a business startup consultation in K. Kaashidhoo and a restaurant and café startup support program in Hulhumalé. The program will continue with its official launch in F. Feeali on 22 July, followed by the Grand Showcase of "The Art of 20 Culinary" on 1 August in B. Dhonfanu.
Experience Behind the Initiative
Chef Ulfa brings extensive experience from both the Maldives and international hospitality markets. She has worked in 11 resorts and hotels, including one year at InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa in the UAE.
She currently works as a chef in pastry at Avani+ Fares Maldives, where she continues to create high-quality pastry products while maintaining luxury resort standards.
Building on successful training programs previously conducted in Gaafaru and Kaashidhoo in Malé Atoll, Chef Ulfa aims to expand "The Art of 20" to more communities and inspire a new generation of pastry entrepreneurs.
Through this initiative, Chef Ulfa brings the expertise of luxury resort kitchens to local communities, creating opportunities for learning, creativity, and culinary entrepreneurship across the Maldives.
