Nasheed Wins MDP Chairperson Election in Landslide
Former President Mohamed Nasheed has won the MDP chairperson election with a commanding victory over Mikaeel and the “Ithubaaru” team.
With nearly 70 percent of ballot boxes counted, Nasheed built an insurmountable lead, securing the party’s top post by a wide margin. The results reflect a decisive mandate from MDP members and leave no mathematical path for Mikaeel to close the gap.
Although some ballot boxes are yet to be counted, the outcome has been decided, with Nasheed emerging as the clear winner of the MDP chairperson election.
