MDP welcomes back the former president Nasheed and the Democrats

ormer president and former leader of MDP Mohamed Nasheed rejoins MDP with other fellow members of the Democrats. 

At an informal meeting of the National Assembly of MDP last night, the party welcomed the members of the democrats and Nasheed back to the Party. Following the meeting MDP reaffirmed it openness to welcome anyone committed to contribute meaningfully to the country. 

MDP also criticized the current government by saying we are moving further away from the democracy and today after years of work democracy is under threat. 

As the largest opposition party, MDP reiterated its commitment to holding the government accountable and safeguarding constitutional rights.
